Exploring Christianity

exploring-1Who is Jesus?

Jesus is at the centre of the Christian faith. But who is he? For many, Jesus Christ is a useful expletive used out of habit without thinking, context or understanding. For us, Jesus is a real person who lived and died and rose again.

For us as Christians, Jesus is about relationship! Not some empty religious duty or tradition, but a relationship with God. God, who is revealed as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (also known as the Trinity –  three persons in one) and is a God of relationship. The Bible is packed full of the exploration of this God, and his relationship with us as his creation. God loved the world so much that he demonstrated it by sending Jesus, the Son into our world.

Jesus taught and showed us how to love God and each other. He made it possible to really know God even today; possible to be free from fear, shame and guilt; possible to live life to the full and to ultimately be with Him eternally in a world with no pain, suffering, tears or death.

If you want to know more we are happy to help. From time to time we run ‘Exploring Christianity’ courses as the need arises. Also, why not look for yourself at the attached links. Hope you find them useful and maybe, life changing. Here is a summary:

4points1
God’s love is unlimited and completely unconditional.
There is nothing you can do to make God love you any more or less than He does right now! There is nothing that God wants more than to love and be loved by you.See: Psalm 100:5 and 1 John 3:16
4points2
We sin when we ignore God, break His laws and basically do things our own way.
Sin destroys relationships with friends, with family and with God. The Bible says that sin ultimately brings death.See: Isaiah 59:2 and Romans 6:23
4points3
We have all sinned, so we all deserve to be punished, to die.
But God, who is full of mercy, loved you so much that He sent Jesus to come and die in your place. Jesus died so that you can have eternal life.See: 1 John 4:9-10 and Romans 5:8
4points4
God is offering you life in its fullness for all eternity.
All you need to do is accept that you’ve sinned, ask God’s forgiveness and decide to live the rest of your life only for Him. The choice is yours.See: Deuteronomy 30:19 and 1 John 1:9

Many thanks to The 4 Points and Frontline Church for the above.
