Hebrews 13 v 3 says:

“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering”

 

This group seeks to be a community who reach and care for those in local prisons.  The group meets to pray for and provide practical support, as well as showing love and care to those in prison, homeless or who are affected by this.

Some members of the group pray and support, whilst others visit people in prisons, help run courses and volunteer with prison chaplaincy teams.

The group builds community by meeting together regularly for prayer, Bible study and social times.

The group can welcome prisoners on release into the community and seeks to help engage the whole church in prison ministry through ‘Prison Week’ and fundraising opportunity.  The group seeks to be on the Welcome Directory for prisoners on release.
